1. To encourage and promote the breeding of purebred Pugs and to do all possible to bring their natural qualities to perfection;

2. To urge Breeders and Members to accept the Standard of the breed, as approved by the American Kennel Club, as the only Standard of excellence by which the Pug shall be judged;

3. To do all in its power to protect and advance the interest of the breed in encouraging sportsmanlike competition at dog show and/or obedience trials;

4. To conduct licensed and sanctioned Specialty Shows under the rules of the American Kennel Club.

Membership shall be open to all persons 18 years or older who are in good standing with the AKC, and who subscribe to the purpose of the Club. Membership dues for new Members is required at the time the Club Membership Application is submitted and will be held pending approval by vote of Officers and Directors of the Club. Membership renewals for existing Members are due annually in January of the New Year. Meetings are held the second Wednesday of each month except for July, August and December, when no meetings are held. Members will also receive the newsletter Pug Patter bi-monthly via regular mail.
